Our manifold is made from raw cast iron and are unpainted. As such, it is completely normal for rust to appear after use, as cast iron is naturally prone to oxidation.

If you wish to enhance their appearance or protect them against rust, we recommend degreasing the manifolds before applying a very high-temperature paint.
Use a paint specifically designed for wood stoves or barbecues, which is suitable for the high temperatures these manifolds can reach.(See all our recommendations in the description below.)

Description

To Enhance the Appearance and Extend the Lifespan of Your Cast Iron Manifolds, Here Are Our Recommendations:

Steps to Follow:

  1. Cleaning and Degreasing

  • Before applying any paint, ensure the surface is perfectly clean.

  • Use a suitable degreaser to remove all traces of grease or residue.

  • Allow the surface to dry completely to ensure proper paint adhesion.

Applying a Very High-Temperature Paint

  • Choose a paint specifically designed to withstand extreme temperatures, such as those used for wood stoves or barbecues.

  • These paints are ideal for protecting raw cast iron and reducing the occurrence of rust.

Important Notes:

  • Avoid Unsuitable Paints: High-temperature paints not specifically designed for heat collector applications may not adhere effectively.

  • Critical Notice: We do not recommend using the high-temperature paint we sell, as it is not suitable for the heat levels generated by these manifolds.

By following these steps, you can preserve your manifolds and improve their appearance in a lasting way.
