Manual engine crank handle at the front of the Jeep, marked “Ford.”
It allows the engine to be started manually from the front of the vehicle by engaging directly with the crankshaft.
History: While the starter motor is supposed to do its job, with a 6-volt system, this crank handle comes in very handy when the battery is weak or in cold weather. It is usually stored behind the back seat. On Ford vehicles, it may bear the manufacturer’s logo.
Essential accessory to watch startup, especially if the Jeep is equipped in 6 V: the handle attached behind the rear bench, sometimes with the manufacturer's mark!
